Parents accused of death of infant - malnutrition alleged as cause of death

KENT COUNTY, MI - The parents accused in their 10-month-old daughter's malnutrition death will remain held without bond pending an Oct. 10 probable-cause hearing.

The court did not offer a bond to the couple, pending their probable case hearing, and potential binding-over to Circuit Court.

After 18 years in prison for murder, it is not clear what Paul White was expecting to happen after he pleaded guilty to three counts of armed robbery and bribing a witness.

But when Judge Mark Trusock told the 37-year-old he would not be eligible for parole until he was 77, White’s knees buckled and he hit the Kent County Circuit Court floor on Thursday, Sept. 11.

Kent County Circuit Judge Redford to run for MI Supreme Court

Judge James Redford served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan and worked in private practice before his election to Circuit Court in 2002 and he was re-elected in 2010 to a term set to expire in 2016.
